Top 25 Social Networking Sites
I came across these interesting stats in a search. Note these stats are by visit and Facebook shows no sign of falling behind and in fact has surged past MySpace. We’ve been hearing how Twitter has exploded…there is no doubt about it… it seems anyone and everyone is on Twitter. Although Twitter has overtaken LinkedIn (A wake up call for LinkedIn perhaps?) in terms of visits, I have found connecting with professionals and businesses people easier on Linked In than on Twitter. Doing business in 140 characters is still somewhat challenging, and it’s not clear yet how many deals are actually closed. And of course it could be related to how much time I am actually able to spend on Twitter. The busier I am, the less time I have to tweet.
I have come across other research (which I will post later on) showing in fact that comparatively few businesses are using Twitter.
Personally I find LinkedIn more appropriate than Facebook for business. That might be just me, because Facebook has always been more for personal connections than marketing, and I’ve only just set up a Facebook Page. Overall though my most consistent source of business has been face-to-face networking and referrals. For exposure and finding out what’s happening out there, Twitter, used well, is hard to beat and is better than Facebook.
Another thing to consider is that if these stats are based solely on visits, then what might they be, in terms of Twitter if tweets via the various applications like Tweetdeck, Twirl and others) were counted?
It will be interesting to see what this ranking is in a year… by which time I expect Twitter to either have paid accounts and more than 140 characters, been bought by… (3 guesses) or have been replaced by something else waiting to fill the void. In the meantime check out the:

I think facebook will lead the competition for social networking, because they provide good website service.
