Building a Social Network or a Social Membership site is one of the hottest social media business topics today. Businesses are slowly realising the way to their prospect or customer’s heart is unlikely to be broadcasting sales messages or advertising and, instead, will be engagement and relationship…shoestring or not, you WILL need a budget. Even if you plan on doing all the technical stuff yourself – which, if you are busy doing other things will be challenging.

While Social Media is great for getting traffic to your website if you want to build lasting relationships then you need to be investing in email marketing – specifically a newsletter or E-Zine. In 2010, email marketing is going to be increasingly important to businesses wanting to build strong relationships with their customers.

Not only do 99% of affiliate marketers on Twitter not know how to market correctly, they tell their own affiliates how to do it the wrong way too. Even without seeing this in the Clickbank blog, I know this to be true. I’ve seen many marketers through their communications tell their affiliates to immediately stick their affiliate link on Twitter – anywhere and everywhere they think they can get a sale.
