59 Things About Me

by Nicky

CN Tower Toronto at Night I first wrote something like this on my personal blog, except I called it 100 things about me. And it was, too.

Have to admit though, it really got started with a meme. I got so many memes that I wrote 100 things about me and “Presto! Meme central.” Sorted.  It’s a very fine line between what’s up for personal consumption in a business blog. So I’ve tried to think of the most common questions one might ask in, say,  a business-casual setting.

They’re in no particular order. And should you desire a more formal rendering of all about me, you can quite easily and comfortably retreat to the familiarity of my Bio on my website: Copywriting Studio.

Enjoy.

Hey Nicky -

What’s the name of the Masterton book? And have you read Luke Sullivan’s “Hey Whipple, Squeeze this?”

Enjoyed the list!

Hi Greg! The book was called Seven Figures in 7 Years. I was browsing in a bookshop and I’d never heard of MM. I opened the book at a story about an AWAI copywriter and read the whole thing there and then. It just said something to me. I went home and I typed AWAI into Google… the rest, as they say, is history. I never thought of copy in quite the same way again.

And no I haven’t read “Hey Whipple, Squeeze this?” Do you recommend it?
Glad you enjoyed my list ;)

Great blog, great site… and I have a question: Why are so many terrific blogs and writers — at least the ones I’m coming across from links (twitter esp.) from Britain!? I’m a real Anglophile anyway, so it’s just one more thing to love about the UK… my dog’s name is Brit (he’s 5 months old)… just a random fact apropos of nothing.

Hey Whipple Squeeze This is one of the best books on creativity, copy writing and advertising I’ve ever read. I highly recommend it! I love books on serious subjects that can make me laugh.

@Marci – many thanks for the compliments, and pleased to meet you! :) As to your question.. hmmm – I have to think about that one. Probably because you can’t go too far without tripping over a Brit (at least that’s what my husband – another Anglophile – says). Or perhaps we are never terribly shy about airing our opinions…

You’re the second person who’s recommended “Hey Whipple Squeeze This” and spoken very highly of it. I shall have to get it. Thanks so much for stopping by – oh, and for re-tweeting Steve’s tweet.
