Nicky London Art – Urban Spires
Collage meet London Architecture in a mesmerizing palette of greens, blues and purple jewel tones and textures. With over 60 layers and a composition within a composition I created this London art in two stages, months apart. The first one was quite light. And then I got “stuck” in that I ran into one of those mind blocks that said road closed. So I left the art for a while and it was interesting coming back and completing it some months later. This London Collage art combines my love of London’s architecture and straight lines with unstructured shapes, textures and digital brushwork. In it you can see inspirations from icons like Southwark Cathedral, the Shard and the London Eye among others. I find that familiar icons and buildings help anchor us… and especially in these times when we sometimes feel the ground is shifting under our very feet I find it comforting to see things that stand steadfast in somewhat stormy seas.
